Holy Week 2025 Wednesday, 16 April – Mass of Chrism 11.00 Leeds Cathedral – all welcome. Holy Thursday, 17 April – Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper 7pm with watching at the Altar of Repose to 9.15.pm at St Mary’s. Good Friday, 18 April – Celebration of The Lord’s Passion 3pm in both churches with Stations of the Cross at St Aelred’s. Holy Saturday, 19 April – Easter Vigil 7pm at St Aelred’s. Easter Sunday masses as usual.

We have had lots of generous chocolate donations so far and have created some beautiful chocolate hampers – so a big thank you! Krista Gray will be selling raffle tickets for the chocolate raffle this Sunday and next after Mass at St Aelred’s and Anna Dimond at St Mary’s, please contact them if you would like a ticket. Any additional chocolate donations will be gratefully received. Raffle will be drawn on Sunday, 27th April . Many thanks!

A message from Jill Collins Headteacher at St Robert’s Primary School. The children really enjoyed the Retreat Day and the teachers said they took it all in and talked all about it. A huge thank you to you and your team of volunteers for putting it all together and delivering it. We are so grateful we have such a supportive community. Thank you to everyone for making it a great success.

CAFOD Family Fast day raised a total of £ 1,213.99 from St Aelred’s and £ 387.45 (both + Gift Aid) from St Mary’s. Your generosity will make such a difference to the work of CAFOD in serving those so desperately in need throughout our world. Thank you.

Children and families are warmly invited to a special liturgy for children at morning Mass on Sunday’s, during term time. Children from 4 – 8 years may attend the sessions in the parish hall during the first half of mass. Younger children may also join when accompanied by a parent.

Visitors are always most welcome to celebrate mass with us.

Learn more about living simply and sustainably. Trish Sandbach will be giving. A presentation and taking questions on Thursday 20th March at 6.30pm in St Aelred’s Hall. This is an opportunity for both our parishes to pray, learn and reflect together.

 Mass intentions gratefully received using the brown envelopes in both churches. All Mass intentions must be made via the brown envelopes in the narthex and a cash donation placed in them or use the tab on the Dona machine. Please give at least 2 weeks’ notice to facilitate a special day.

The Chapel Of Our Lady of the Crag in Knaresborough . We are a small group of local people who hold the Chapel of Our Lady of the Crag in Trust. We are in need of more trustees, gardeners, volunteers and fundraisers to help us in our mission to keep this unique site open to visitors. Donations of plants and money towards our long-term preservation projects would also be welcomed. We look forward to your visit in this Jubilee Year.www.ourladyofthecrag.org/

 American Style Ceilidh - Saturday 5th April 7 . 30pm in St Aelred’s Hall. The next in our popular twice-yearly series. Come and dance to a top-class live band. Sociable and fun. No previous dance experience needed - our expert dance caller will explain everything. This event is open to the public - bring your friends from outside the parish. Tickets £10 / £6 on the door. Tea, coffee & cake in the interval. No licensed bar but you can bring your own drinks if you wish. For more information see Philip Rowe (Sunday organist St Aelred’s 9am).

Friendship Groups: St Aelred’s Friendship Group meet on the third Wednesday of each month at 1.30pm – 3.30pm all most welcome. St Mary’s Friendship Group meet Monday afternoons from 1.30pm to 3pm with refreshments and good cake! All most welcome.

Divine Mercy Sunday – April 27th will be celebrated at St Robert’s Church, Harrogate. 2pm Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and an opportunity to go to confession. 3pm. Pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, followed by Benediction: concluding with veneration of the Holy Image of Jesus.
