St Aelred’s late summer Fair will take place on Saturday 6th September from 2-4.30pm. We need lots of bottles – particularly wine and spirits, chocolates for the tombola, Hampers and vouchers. Please bring them to church as soon as possible and we will store them in a cool secure place. Home baking and preserves gratefully received on the day and lots of help.

St Aelred’s church flower team would gratefully accept flowers from your garden or bought flowers to be used to decorate the church. Please leave donations at the back of church in the bucket marked Flowers.

Our SVPs collect food for the hungry, can you spare a tin a week for this also some toiletries? These can be left in the boxes at the back of our churches. The Lord tells us to feed the hungry, so thank you all for your donations which are sincerely appreciated.

St Aelred’s Church is kept clean by a team of volunteers, working in pairs on a rota. We need at least four and, preferably more, volunteers to join the rota and share this important work. Each pair cleans the church, taking 2-3 hours about four times a year. : If you have surplus fruit, veg, homemade jams, chutneys etc please consider sharing with the parish. There is a table at the back of the church to leave your produce. Please help yourselves to any produce, if you feel the need to make a monetary donation there is a bowl to put it in. All donations will be shared between the SVP and CAFOD. Thank you for your support.

 Mass intentions gratefully received using the brown envelopes in both churches. All Mass intentions must be made via the brown envelopes in the narthex and a cash donation placed in them or use the tab on the Dona machine. Please give at least 2 weeks’ notice to facilitate a special day.

Congratulations to all our children from St Aelred’s and St Mary’s who made their First Holy Communion last weekend. Particular thanks to their catechists Bex, Justine, Helen and Katie and to all their families for their prayerful support.

Saturday 27th September We are joining the Diocesan Pilgrimage to Walsingham. The coach will leave Harrogate at about 6.15am arriving in time for Mass at 12 noon followed by procession along the Holy Mile and Benediction in the Abbey grounds. We will return to Harrogate about 10pm. Packed lunch will be needed, and we are hoping to plan a stop for fish and chips at the seaside on our return journey. Friendship Groups: St Aelred’s Friendship Group meet on the third Wednesday of each month at 1.30pm – 3.30pm all most welcome. St Mary’s Friendship Group meet Monday afternoons from 1.30pm to 3pm with refreshments and good cake! All most welcome.
