The Sacrament of Reconciliation

"Those who approach the Sacrament of Penance obtain pardon through God's mercy for the offence committed against him, and are, at the same time, reconciled with the Church which they have wounded by their sins and which by charity, by example, and by prayer labours for their conversion" 

(Catechism of the Catholic Church 1422).


First Reconciliation is for those in school year 3 or above.

Parish Confessions


Fr. Gerard will be available for Confessions in the confessional at St. Aelred's from 5:00pm on Saturdays.

 First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion at St Aelred's Church 2025 : Enrolment forms for the preparation for these Sacraments are now available for collection and on the website. First Reconciliation is for children in school year 3 or above and the First Reconciliation service will be held on Saturday 15th March at 4.30pm. First Holy Communion preparation is for children in school year 4 or above and the First Holy Communion Service will be held at 9am Mass on Sunday 18th May 2025. Completed enrolment forms should be returned to Deacon David by Sunday 1st December 2024.
